Dubbed the "Sonny and Cher of Salford", North England, Jules de Martino and Katie White aka The Ting Tings are set to unleash their distinctive brand of fun, kooky, cool electro pop in their debut release 'We Started Nothing' when it hits stores May 24.

The duo who met in after high school have undoubtedly started something with their ambition to "rock the foundations of pop music" producing infectious, outrageous first singles 'Great DJ' and 'That's Not My Name' that positiviely buzz with angular guitar work, whipsmart drumming and Katie's Blondie-esque vocals.

A host of acts have been announced for this year’s Glastonbury Festival including Jamie T, The Cribs, Biffy Clyro and The National.

They’re all playing the John Peel Stage at the June event, while Kings Of Leon, The Verve and the greatest rapper alive Jay-Z are headlining.

Also added to the JP stage- which used to be the New Bands Tent- are The Ting Tings, The Futureheads, Spiritualized and Reverend And The Makers.

Leonard Cohen, Hot Chip and Massive Attack will also play.

Tickets are still available while the full line-up will be announced May 1.
